Hoiho / Yellow-Eyed Penguin Original Painting

Bird of the year 2024 the Yellow-eyed penguins (hoiho) 🐧

I wanted to convey the shouting noise that they made with the way I drew in coloured pencil. As their te reo Māori name (Hoiho) means ‘noise shouter.

This is an original painting measuring roughly 15cm x 15cm on Khadi paper. Painted with a mixture of gouache, acrylic ink and some coloured pencil.
